SM Entertainment Global Auditions

SM Trainees not only train but they are also lowly workers at SM world auditions. More on that later.
I went to the Flushing, Queens audition today with a friend. I wasn’t auditioning, I was emotional support : ). We got there about 45 minutes before the auditions officially opened.
The wierdest thing was that it was inside an auto place. Don’t ask, I have no idea. And it was much smaller than I thought it was going to be. I thought there would be a line around the block but it was just a large group of people. Anyway, inside you got free poster of SM artists and there was a tv playing MV’s from SM artists like, The Grace, DBSK, Super Junior etc.

It was mostly girls and some guys, none of them looked like SM material though but I guess they will after years of training and plastic surgery? Who knows?
Moving on, they went in and came out so fast. They auditioned in groups of five and they were only in there for about 10-15 minutes TOPS.

And what I was talking about in my first sentence. The trainees were working at the auditions. They registered people and called out numbers. I thought that was interesting. And you know what very special trainee I saw today? Henry Lau AKA the violin boy AKA not the 14th member of Super Junior.

Well, I didn’t even recognize the kid at first, mostly because all of the pictures of him hide his face, but this group of girls was squealing about him next to me. Edit: But I’m hearing that it wasn’t Henry. But I know I definitely saw Stella Kim doing work.

So that was my time at the SM World Auditions in Flushing.

Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s Anatomy has started, and I am so excited despite all the drama I believe that this season will be just as adictive.
I can’t believe Bailey isn’t chief.
I don’t like Karev’s freaking beard-stache poop thing on his face.
Izzie is being an idiot trying to save a deer.
Meredith is still annoying.
Yang rocks my socks, as for as I’m concerned the show should be Yang’s Anatomy And plus there is a Mini-Yang on the show! Basically another Asian girl that act just like Christina.
George and Cali need to break up immediately.
George is redoing his intern year!
And… Burke’s an ass.
Addison is gone!
And Meredith is still annoying.

Sex and the City: The Movie

Several times today I walked by the set of the new Sex and the City movie in New York’s Village. I was so excited because I absolutely adore the series. (Even though it’s unrealistic and only focuses on rich white women). Anyway, that show had some of the best writing in television while it aired.

Part of the premise of the new movie involves Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) hiring an assisstant (Jennifer Hudson) because she’s gaining more notoriety. And also Charlotte is pregnant. She isn’t pregnant for the entire movie if you look at the picture above…
Hmm, if I walk by again and I see the cast I’ll try and snap a picture, but until that time here are some shots someone else got.

Here are some of my thoughts:
1. I wish that Aidan would come back! He was by far the best guy. Which is probably why he doesn’t end up wth Carrie, because she doesn’t deserve him. Her and Big (whose name, if you remember from the series finale was John) are made for each other, they both suck a little bit.
2. I wonder is Samantha (Kim Catrall) is still with her HOT actor boyfriend.
3. Miranda ( and Steve: I wonder if their baby is still ugly. Okay, maybe the kid was cute but my last memory was of an ugly baby. Moving on…
4. Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is pregnant so, she did not leave her ugly husband. At least they kept one ugly peson in the entire movie.
5. I’m not too excited about Jennifer Hudson but I think it may be because I thought Rinko Kikuchi deserved the Oscar!

You may or may not know that the movie was supposed to be shot in 2004 but there were some issues with an actress…*cough* Kim Catrall…
But thankfully all the girls–Carrie, Samantha, Mirand and Charlotte–are back! I am so excited.

Korea’s Box Office

This week I am happy to annouce that the Joo Jin Mo film, Sarang or A LOVE is number one at the South Korean box office, coming in front of the Hollywood movie, The Bourne Ultimatum. Woo Hoo

The Comedy Mission Possible: Gidnapping Granny K is holding it’s own at number three. Yoo Gun is in it… I may have mentioned it before….

Here are the numbers.

Sarang’s Gross-to-Date: 3,681,579
The Bourne Ultimatum’s Gross-to-Date: 3,508,636

Japan’s Box Office

This week the Japanese filmHero is still dominating the box office. I’m happy about that because I love Kimura Takuya. You should check out my post about the movie.

Coming in at number two was Fantastic Four 2: The Rise of the Silver Surfer. The movie wasn’t that good…
and at number three is the animated French flick, Arthur and the Invisibles.

And at number for is first of the Anime movie Eva. 1.0 You are (not) Alone

Lobbyist: The Antithesis of Ma Wang

The upcoming K-drama Angel is changing it’s name to…drumroll please….Lobbyist. Why? Because it makes so much more sense, seeing as the drama is about lobbyists.
I’m happy they changed from Angel to Lobbyist because, if you look at the poster it’s the same setup as the poster for awesome k-drama Ma Wang. (Ma Wang is Korean for devil). Devil… Angel… okay.

I personally think this one is better. But it is interesting to see such similar poster for two dramas from the same year.

Lobbyist starts in October. There is alot of hype surrounding this drama. I’m pretty excited, it sounds new and interesting. Hopefully by then the name will still be Lobbyist because that makes much more sense.

Super Junior at number one.

So Super Junior’s album is at number one right now. I’m surprised only because I didn’t think the cd very good but I’m not surprised because I am convinced that the Elves are international terrorist organization and they tortured people into buying the album. JUST KIDDING.

As much as I don’t like Super Junior, I’m going to equate someone liking them to someone like the Backstreet Boys. It makes sense.

Alex of Clazziquai and Yoo Gun of…hotness

Alex from Clazziquai…He has the sexiest voice ever. So deep…So soothing… I had to dedicate a post to him because of this and because of this video.

It’s Alex on the Korean Variety Show Jong Shin Tong Il also known as Jihwaza. In the video, a minute or so in, Alex takes off his shirt (he has an undershirt on) because the girls ask to see his arms and then…when he gets into the water he take of the undershirt, and it’s just him, topless, wet etc

and then there’s Yoo Gun, ever since Bad Couple I’ve just loved this guy. At the end of the video below Yoo Gun and Alex bring their sexiness together…

Clazziquai

Clazziquai is my favorite group right now and they have been all summer. Their songs are awesome, like She Is, Choom (which means “dance”), Fill This Night, the list could go on and on. You guys should give them a listen.

사랑•(Sarang)

사랑(Sarang) or A Love is the new Joo Jin Mo film. You’ve seen him in the horribly overrated 200 Pound Beauty. This film, from director Kwak Jeong Taek, is about an undying love between two people. It starts with In Ho as a teenage boy falling in love with Mi Ju, through a series of events he ends up going to jail to protect her from a gangster. Years later he works for big time executive and discovers that Mi Ju is this executives lover. They still love each other…and that is the drama of the movie.

Why should you see it? Joo Jin Mo and the simplistic, beautiful and what hancinema calls, Shakespearean themes of the film.

Joo Jin Mo literally begged for this role. He wasn’t even considered for the part but he was so in love with the script that he told his agent: “If I don’t get this part I’ll kill myself!” Somehow, after a lot of trouble he got the part. And he is getting great reviews for his role in the film, which also stars Park Si Yeon.
