Zhang Li Yin… It’s about Time.

Posted in Music with tags , on November 26, 2007 by illdielaughing

She can finally sing Timeless live! It’s been a year but hey, that girl has a beautiful voice and it pained me (and slightly amused me) to see her mess up so much in the earlier performances. You’ve already heard my frustrations about her voice and that song so I won’t go into that again but I’l just say that, though the performance isn’t perfect it is so much better.

I was really nervous listening to this. I was waiting to see if she would come in right on the harmony in the first chorus. She did. Then I listened to see if she would make it through her bumby verse. She did. And then those notes at the end… Even though, at times, she sounded as if she was about to cry she pulled through and sang the song well.

What I didn’t understand about her performance of Timeless was why she was so nervous. Especially when she looks so confident in this video:

Hyun Young Works it Out to Japan

Posted in TV with tags on November 26, 2007 by illdielaughing

Hyun Young, Miss S-line will debut in Japan.

Hyun Young, funniest model-turned-entertainer I know, is debuting in Japan with a fitness DVD that will show people how she got into such good shape. I think stars that put out fitness videos are hilarious, I think it’s because I always relate work out videos to Jazzercizing. Even when Carmen Electra came out with her Striptease work out thing I could only thing of the seventies and neon colored spandex.

Noona’s Dream, Hyun Young’s first Single:

Funny

Moving on, from KBS Global:

Hyun’s agency says Hyun’s debut in Japan will focus on her healthy image and body-shaping success, and that Hyun will also hold promotional activities and appear on television in Japan.

It’s so strange to have a career around being healthy… I gues is Gene Simmons can do it anyone can. (”And you can!” says Gene).

MC Yoo is the Bee-omb

Like B-omb… you know? Sorry my creative juices aren’t really running right now.

Everyone in America has probably heard of Jerry Seinfeld’s new animated film, Bee Movie, the marketing has been EVERYWHERE it’s insane. Anyway, the movie is coming out in Korea in January and the Korean dub of the film will star MC Yoo as the voice of the main character, Jerry Seinfeld’s character, Barry.

I love MC Yoo, he is pretty much the main reason why I rewatch old episodes of Xman. A friend of mine says that he’s actually quite attractive in real life, is well built and really rich. So she basically wants to marry him. But… MC Yoo well built? I’ll belive it (if) when I see it.

Of course, “netizens” were a big part of the reason that MC Yoo was given the part. Why do netizens control everything? WHY?!! I guess, since I right in a blog I’m technically a netizen, but I like to maintain that I’m someone that lives most of my life in the real world. “Netizen” seems to have such a nasty connotation.

Sex Dolls make Everyone Happy

Posted in WTF? with tags on November 26, 2007 by illdielaughing

Er, Maybe not, but that’s what that’s what some of Bae Yong Joon’s fans think.
dollnewspaperclip.jpg
The Legend star’s fan clubs (Singapore’s Joon’s Family, BYJ Indonesian Family, Thailand’s BYJ Together and BYJ’s Malaysia Family), sent him some cushions and… an inflatable woman in that printed bohemian dress.

Sex dolls (let’s be honest, that’s what it is) should not be sent to anyone other than as a joke and if it’s not bought as a joke it should be bought in severe shame and finally you never send a doll like that to someone you don’t even know. I can’t believe four different Bae Yong Joon fan clubs actually got together and bought something like that. And to relieve stress? If anything he might hurt himself even more if he uses that doll in the way it was intended. I know they don’t expect him to look at it.
I just wonder how that particular product came up. “Hmm, what relieves stress?” Sex. “Well, we can’t send a actual human being…” What about a fake human?
I’m sure that was exactly the thought process. Haha

Fan clubs…stop being creepy. Of course, this isn’t as bad as the time Lee Teuk got home-made porn and a vile of blood. That’s just messed up.

MBC needs to…relax…(?)

Posted in ^_^ with tags on November 23, 2007 by illdielaughing

I really don’t know what they need to do to rectify their problem.
Once again, silly pride has affected innocent people. MBC has halted Kang In’s job as MC on Sunday’s Dongan Club, Nothing is Impossible and Show! Music Core. They have also refused to let Super Junior appear on any of MBC’s variety shows.
Random Super Junior video to make SuJu fans happy

Why? You may ask.

Hotaru no Hikari

Posted in TV on November 23, 2007 by illdielaughing

You’re profile is destroying my spinal marrow. (<– Best drama quote ever)

I was having a hard time finding a Japanese drama that I actually liked and one that didn’t have anything to do with terminal ilnesses, dying children or ridiculous love polygons. I found that in the drama Hotaru no Hikari or Glow of the Firefly. It’s a comedy and like most Japanese drama comedies is overly dramatic and the humor is juvenile and physical but, there is also smart humor in the show and good characters. I started watching this drama about a month ago and then stopped half way through the series because I was getting annoyed with it but, today I finally finished it and I’m glad I did.

Hotaru no Hikari is about a young woman, Amemiya, that works at a famous interior designing company. She lives in a nice modest house but that house is owned by her bosses parents. So when her boss is in the middle of a divorce and has no where else to go (or is too stubborn to go elsewhere) they end up cohabiting. And then enter Amemiya’s love interest Makoto–who came to the company after a brief stint in Europe. So basically they have to hid the fact that they are living together from everyone in the office including Makoto.

What I like about this drama is that there isn’t any foreshadowing of future relationships and what not, it seems very natural in it’s progression. There of course is a love triangle (a love star it turns out) but it is dealt with modestly and with out the ridiculously bitchy third wheel woman and/or man. The drama is just really funny and touching (which surprised me). You should watch it and if you get sick of it at around episode five don’t worry, it gets better.

Superficial Note:
(Everyone is just so cute in this drama. The main guys (even the older one) are so adorable).

Song Hye Gyo debuts in US…through Indie poo?

Posted in Movies, NYC, Seoul with tags on November 21, 2007 by illdielaughing

Sorry for the slightly crude heading.

I hope that Song Hye Gyo’s debut will be impressive. We’ll see though. There are a couple of things going against her, she hasn’t fully learned English and she’s going to be in an indie film by an unknown director. Of course, there are always those break outs that make a big splash in that obscure fim that screened at that random film festival but…after seeing Hwang Jini I’m not to sure Song has it anymore.
