Every Night (please be good)

Kim Sun Ah’s comeback drama on MBC. Her last one was My Name is Kim Sam Soon which I enjoyed. But upon rewatching it I realized that Hyun Bin’s acting was rather… stale. I feel like Kim Sun Ah literally carried that drama on her back to success. Her and Na Moon Hee were so worth watching as well as most of the supporting cast (Captain Jang haha).

Anywho-how, Lee Dong Gun is teaming up with Kim Sun Ah for 밤이면 밤마다 or Every Night (the name of a popular old song), a drama about a perverted arts scholar and a sexy woman thought to be conniving because of said sexiness. They cross paths and of course will fall in love… because that’s the way these things go. The drama stars airing on June 16, which can’t come soon enough because I’m very excited for anything that Kim Sun Ah does…and Lee Dong Gun is a good actor as well as really easy on the eyes.

Hee Chul Gets a Nose Job

Super Junior’s attention-whore, Hee Chul, is getting some rhinoplasty.

They’re saying it’s not for vanity reasons but from necessity. Allegedly, Hee Chul injured his nose after falling down the stairs of his home on the 19th of March. He had recently gotten Lasik Eye Surgery and it is speculated that this is the reason why he fell… There is a debate going on as to whether or not this is true. I have a feeling that it could be true because if SM wanted to fix that nose of his they would have done it before his debut. But then again, people get plastic surgery in the middle of their career all the time. Either way, Hee Chul is getting rhinoplasty and he joins the long list of stars that can’t stay away from the plastic surgeon.

On Air: Episode 3

This show doesn’t have huge cliff hangers it just sails along smoothly at a refreshing pace. It doesn’t go super fast like Hong Gil Dong but it doesn’t drag along like some other dramas. It takes it’s time unveiling the characters.  

On Air: Episodes 1 and 2

I wasn’t going to watch On Air because Dramabeans, a blogger I usually agree with about dramas, hated it vehemently, and alot of the comments on the page weren’t that great. I then talked to one of my friends about it and she said that she had watched the first 4 episodes and it was “Okay”. I still wasn’t going to watch it but then… I finished watching all the subbed Hong Gil Dong episodes and was itching to watch something else so I downloaded the first 2 episodes of On Air.

The drama is written by Kim Eun Sook and directed by Shin Woo Chul, the team that did the Lovers series (Lovers in Paris, Lovers in Prague, Lovers) and Hello, Miss!. The latter didn’t do too well but Lovers in Paris is one of the highest rated dramas of all time, the season finale garnered a 56% rating. Anyway, on to ON AIR.

As much as I love DBSK I wouldn’t want them on my credit card. For some reason, I’d just feel really immature charging my groceries on a card with five hot idol faces plastered on it. But it is a good way to market there 3rd live tour for “T”. (By the way have you seen the outfits? Oh God, more on that later.)

Members of Clazziquai Goes Their Separate Ways

 

But not for long. Clazziquai’s Alex and Horan are both taking a break from the group and branching out. Alex is releasing his solo album in May and Horan is lead vocalist of the acoustic group Ibadi, whose first album, Story of Us, is being released soon as well. DJ Clazzi won’t be alone for long though because Clazziquai is working on an album to be released at the end of the year. I’m actually really happy about their solo projects. Horan is doing pretty much the opposite genre of music than what she did in Clazziquai and though there is no word on the type of music Alex is doing I’m sure it will also be very different (and amazing sounding).

Hana Yori Dango I and II

I somehow finished the last season of Hana Yori Dango yesterday. I had started it last summer and then stopped in the middle of the sixth or seventh episode. Yesterday I started watching again from the 8th episode and finished the season. Then I thought that I should watch season two since everyone just seems to love the drama but… I did a My Girl with this one. I watched the first episode (Well I watched the first half of the first episode and then I skimmed the last half) and then the second half of the last episode(okay I skimmed that too). I really couldn’t condone spending that many hours on a drama that was already driving me crazy from episode one. I’m know I’m in the vast majority by not liking this drama.

It’s just that I can’t bring myself to like Domyouji’s character. Domyouji is an obnoxious brat and Makino has really bad taste in guys because there is nothing good about Domyouji’s character outside of the fact that he likes her. And then there’s Rui, who Makino keeps calling “Hanazawa Rui”, can she be anymore formal? Rui and Makino are much better suited for each other in my opinion. But I know I’m in the minority about that as well. I don’t know exactly what happened in Season two and I’m not to concerned about finding out (well, I might read a synopsis).

Lee Dong Gun Identifies his Brother’s Body

Lee Dong Gun’s younger brother was murdered in Sydney on Wednesday in a violent knife attack allegedly by two members of an Asian crime gang. A friend that was with him was also stabbed but survived. Lee Dong Gun’s brother was studying in Australia before his death. In fact, when his death occurred on Wednesday he was only known as a 19 year-old student. It wasn’t until Lee Dong Gun and his family rushed down there and identified the body that the Korean media got a hold of it. There is CCTV footage of Lee’s brother’s friend staggering into a convenience store asking for help.
It’s tragic to deal with such a young and senseless death, wishing Lee’s family all the best while they cope.
