Rain’s Interview with Popseoul! [Edited]

The Popseoul! Interview

Please watch it and never again tell me that Rain’s English is better than mine. Popseoul! sounded harsh in their review of the interview but after listening to it I realized that not only is Rain’s English is not great but he  also seems so out of it. He asked Popseoul! if they’d seen the movie…. dude, how could he not know that the world wide release is next week…

Anyway, I completely called it about Rain going onto Colbert, but that was a long time coming. I like that Rain’s going to be on Colbert, because I do think Rain’s talented and I LOVE Colbert but my only problem is that Rain’s going on for an interview… I don’t know if that’s the best idea seeing as he had to conduct most of the Popseoul! interview in Korean.

I just want to thank Popseoul! for their interview. We finally get to see that one sentence of English in a trailer is not the perfect English speaker prove.

What do you think of this?

[EDIT: Found a better interview transcript! See above post!]

    i’m no rain fan but i just wanted to point out that you’re obviously NOT media b/c if you were, you’d KNOW that there’s always a media screening of movies about 1-2 weeks before the actual release. this allows the media to have something to discuss with the actors/directors during interviews and to write about it. soooo, rain asking popseoul if she has seen the movie yet is a completely legit question. you can pull your head out of popseoul’s ass now.

  2. hey_dumass Says:

    oh and one more thing…the media screening for speedracer was in fact almost 2 weeks ago.

  3. illdielaughing Says:

    Wow, thank you for that. First of all, I go to film school so I know that their are critics screenings for films yet I never claimed I was media, did I? Second of all, if you’ve ever read anything else on this blog you know that my head is no where near Popseoul’s ass, thank you very much. Third, I don’t know why you’re getting so bent out of shape, you could have simply said that they had a media screening two weeks ago. I was under the impression that the New York premiere of the film was at the end of the Tribeca Film Festival and seeing as Popseoul! is based in New York, I didn’t think that they’d seen the film yet. (And they hadn’t.) Last and not least, there’s no need for the name calling, the fact that you wrote a paragraph long response to one sentence in the entire post is ridiculous.

    hmmm … such strong feelings for someone who claims he/she is no rain fan. why the facade?

    i’m NOT a rain fan. not at all. can’t stand the guy. listening to the interview he so graciously granted with popseoul, well, let’s just say that it was a loooong 8 minutes of my life wasted. but i DID get a kick out of the nicknames popseoul was throwing at him! now THAT was PRICELESS!! :o)

    @hey_dumass

    I’ve read some pretty crude comments (wherelse but on Popseoul!), but your’s takes the cake today. Congrats.

    @illdielaughing

    He’s actually quite articulate, although his vocabulary is somewhat limited. I was expecting more English during the interview, since HE was the one who expressed his desire to conduct it in English, but I’ll take what I can get it. Thank goodness Popseoul! is bilingual - if she weren’t, the interview could’ve … ended quite badly. His responses, although lacking and not exactly deep, were quite good on the fly (well, somewhat on the fly. I’m sure he’s been asked those questions numerous times), and he had great pronounciation at times.

    Honestly, I was expecting more substance AND more English, but all in all, it wasn’t a terrible interview. Just not a great one, either.

    nia forget the haters, we need to get our assess to that episode of colbert. HOLYSHIT.

  7. illdielaughing Says:

    Yeah, I like Rain’s English I’m mostly worried for him. Especially since he’s going on Colbert. You can tell that he’s good with grammar but needs more vocab. If he stays in the states for a few months he’ll be alright. I figure by the time he has to do promotions for Ninja Assassin he’ll be set.

  8. illdielaughing Says:

    @amy,
    I know!!! seriously how do we go about that?

  9. akon Says:

    Yay the post is here!

    Anyhow, don’t you love how you say one line that isn’t oh-my-god-rain-is-perfect type statement and someone jumps on your ass about it?

    I mean…C.O.M.E O.N…..ridiculous. They take it as if we cursed him to die a horrible death or something. Crazy people I tell ya…
