A man who molested a 2-month-old baby girl has been imprisoned for 3 years by a court here, with the presiding judge in the case calling his actions a “shock to society.”
Koji Nakano, 35, a company employee from Tomakomai, was found guilty of indecent assault and assault by the Tomakomai Branch of the Sapporo District Court.
“Society was shocked to learn about this defendant, who had gone so far as to use a newborn infant as a sex object,” Presiding Judge Tetsuo Tanahashi said as he imprisoned Nakano.
On the afternoon of Oct. 4, Nakano approached the newborn’s 25-year-old mother at a Tomakomai supermarket, telling her he was about to become a father and begging for a chance to nurse the child. The young mother acquiesced, but Nakano responded by molesting the baby’s genitals.
WTF? That is some really messed up stuff. First of all, I would never let some random man hold my baby. Second of all, how did it even get to the point where he was able to fondle the child? When I started reading this story, I thought it was going to be some horrible stuff, but the fact that the mother was right there kind of takes away from the extremeness of the event. I just can’t imagine what the mother was doing while this was occuring–in a SUPERMARKET. I guess it doesn’t matter because the guy’s going to jail for three years.
By the way 1 in 5 of the Mainichi Daily News “Most Popular National News” stories is somehow linked to sex. Ahh, what a newspaper.
