When the heck did this happen?
Well, it was round 2006, when Big Bang first debuted. He actually sounds pretty good.
And please check out Tae Yang (before he was HOT) totally grooving out in the background.

SNSD sucks but Hyo Yeon is awesome. I don’t think she did herself justice in this clip but I’d been looking for her dancing fancam since I saw Yunho’s and saw that her dance directly followed his.
So watch Yunho, who looks good but skinny in his dance… (why can I see your ribcage?)
…and watch HyoYeon (yay, I like her outfit)
Yunho totally struts off stage even when all attention is on Hyoyeon, I love that.
Moving on, Amy over at popfestfast! mentioned this but it’s worth spreading everywhere. Kim. Jun. Su. WTF? His dancing is really good, but the only adjective I can use it cute because…it’s Xiah Junsu. Okay, I guess I could use the word “hot” too.
Stephanie of The Grace was directly after Junsu. She also didn’t do herself justice, she dances so much better than she did here. I imagine she had trouble doing anything in that small dress she was wearing.
Then there’s SHINee’s maknae, Tae Min, displaying some halfassed Krumping. He then rips his shirt. 14 year-olds should not rip their shirts open. Shirts also shouldn’t be ripped open if you don’t have a body like Tae Yang’s or if your wearing a wife beater under said shirt.
SHINee performs that oxegyn song. It’s…nice.
And yeah, I didn’t watch anything else because I didn’t care about anything else. (except Zhang Li Yin!)
Big Bang’s leader, G-Dragon, real name Kwon Ji Yong, turns 20 years-old today (in Korea aka August 18th).
This kid can’t even legally drink in the US and he’s been producing music for years. Absurd.
Kwon Ji Yong debuted with Big Bang in 2006 after training with YG Entertainment since he was 12 years-old. Big Bang came back with their 3rd mini-album, Stand Up!!, on August 8th and sold over twice as many albums as they had anticipated.
I really want to meet G-Dragon, because if I meet him I can steal all of his clothing and maybe some of his hot swagger will rub off on me (but maybe some of his girly swag, I don’t need any man-swag).
Anyway, once again, happy birthday, G-Dragon, may your 20th year bring you better relationships than the ones you so often rap about.
I’m sorry if you like them, but… I…. don’t.
They’re so dull it’s outrageous. Actually it would be outrageous if their mv could even stir emotion within a human being. The dancing was halfassed, the music was… i can’t even remember it. The members looked really confused as to why they were even dancing or where they were.
Why has this happened to me? Why did I watch the whole music video? Twice?
Why is it that Jong Hyun is a space man and the first and only shot of SHINee as a group is of them bending over?
It’s because their album concept is strange. But I’m sure when we get a full album and “trailer” it’ll make sense. I like the idea of SHINee coming out with an album. I’m sick of Korea’s cheap execs churning out the minialbums, but then again, I know they’re worried that no one will pay for it. SHINee, however, has a lot of potential because they have good producers behind them, which I couldn’t say for some of SM’s other artists.
The recently missing-in-action Ha Ji Won and Uhm Jung Hwa, currently basking in the success of her YG produced album, D.I.S.C.O are set to co-star in the film, Haeundae.
Haeundae is a disctrict in Pusan known for Pusan’s most popular beach. The film is about those devastated by a tsunami that hits Haeundae. Yay for disaster movies! I’m thinking this is going to be something like Day After Tomorrow, Twister, or Armageddon, except with more water and drowning (and less space travel). Though I don’t think their can be anymore water/drowning in this film than in Day After Tomorrow.
Anyway, this movie makes me really nervous because, well, Uhm Jung Hwa, acting distressed? God, please no. I think she’s great in comedy but next to Ha Ji Won-who’s great-she may just look like a fish out of water.
Yesterday Jang Geun Suk was present at the Girls Only premiere of his much anticipated (at least by me) movie Baby and Me.
Jang Geun Suk is such a cutie and I hope in Baby and Me he’ll have more to do than just glare icily (read: blankly) like he did in Hong Gil Dong or have 10 lines like he did in The Longest 24 Months. But since he is the main character in this film I’m sure he’ll do lots and be great (comedy is more his thing, right?)
Check out more pics from the “Girls Only” event.
Cute video, really fun. But Big Bang has done better.
I think I’m being too hard on Big Bang but I’m really disappointed in the quality of their comeback. They themselves are GREAT, but their music isn’t as good as their old stuff and both their new music videos are rather mediocre.
I hate that I don’t love it all like everyone else but I remember when I would listen to Hot Issue on repeat because I thought it was so great and I was ready to do that again with Stand Up but I can’t. I am glad, however, that people are loving the album because I love Big Bang and they deserve the exposure and the popularity. Even if the song isn’t great they perform with all their heart and they are really great at what they do.
Ahh anyway, I told you I was on a Big Bang Binge, but is that really so bad? ![]()
I’m on a Big Bang Binge right now (like that alliteration?).
You know when people say “Ugh, they were just LOVE”. Thats pretty much how I feel when I see them in this 30 second preview for their ELLE Korea shoot. They look great. GD has all of his hair. TOP isn’t wearing his mickey mouse gloves and Tae Yang is, as usual, incapable of being unattractive. And Dae Sung, who I don’t pay attention to enough, looks great. When will the full video and the spread come out? Come sooner! Because…
Ugh… they are just LOVE.
